My first succulent plant

Lilies of the Field
I like that sound and I love the feel of those sounds. And to me it sounds good to name a garden like that. Its sounds peculiar and seldom used. The first time I heard it, I fell in love. Awestruck of the verse in the Bible, Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; ... Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin. Two verses earlier at Matthew 6:26 Jesus told his followers not to worry about food, because even the birds are provided for by God. I feel like a lily, how I grow and how God has been taking care of me through all these years acknowledging that aprt from God I am nothing.

Today, I try to look back hmmmm  guess a decade ago, when  first started collecting cacti. Now facebook reminded me it was not a decade ago but 12 years ago. I though I started collecting 2006. Good there was record when I posted the picture.

My first cacti collection
Pleased to introduce to you my first collection, the flapjack succulent, that was when I wasin Cagayan de oro and was living in a boarding house who allowed us to care for plants. Now, this plant is somewhere out there or died a natural death.

Common name : Flap Jack
Scientific name: kalanchoe lucaie
Plant Care: Water kalanchoe only when the soil is dry. When watering indoor plants, allow the pot to drain completely before replacing the plant on its drainage saucer. Never overwater, as kalanchoe, like all succulents, is prone to rot in soggy soil. Water kalanchoe sparingly during the winter months. Outdoors, kalanchoe plants do well in full sunlight or light shade. Indoor plants perform best in bright light. However, avoid direct light during the summer months, as too much intense light may scorch the plant.

How about you?
Do you have a cactus and succulents collection?
Do you plan to have ?
Why not? Its fun and its a great stress reliever.

Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.
Genesis 1 :29-30
